Company Overview

Based in Elandsfontein, Johannesburg, Osborn Engineered Products SA (Pty) Limited (trading as Osborn) is a leading manufacturer of bulk materials handling equipment and specialist turnkey materials handling contractor for mobile and fixed crushing and screening plants and conveyor systems.

Osborn started off in 1919 as Samuel Osborn, a subsidiary of a Sheffield England steel company founded to market special steels for industry and mining in South Africa. It developed and diversified it's business over the years and now has a staff compliment of over 220 people.

Osborn has long-established licence agreements with major international principals - such as Telsmith and American Pulverizer (USA), Mogensen (UK), and IFE (Austria); and, in association with them and its network of agents and distributors, supplies local and export mining, quarrying and industrial markets across Africa and elsewhere.

The company is committed to the advancement of South Africa's previously disadvantaged community, and has to this end established an Employment Equity Policy through which it can assist these individuals within a structured programme and against set targets. In addition, Osborn follows a policy of subcontracting to small, medium and micro enterprises and black empowerment companies wherever possible.
